Hello! We are William and Mary (yeah, like the college).
We’re two retired teachers who’ve been married over 40 years, and lately life nudged us to make a pretty big change.
We decided to sell the home where we raised our kids, let go of many of the things we’d collected over the years, and begin building a life with more room for travel, family, and new experiences.
It wasn’t sudden. It grew from many small kitchen-table conversations about what we wanted this next chapter to look like.
We’re not experts and we don’t have a perfect plan — we simply reached a point where choosing change felt better than standing still.

Kakkoii means “cool” in Japanese. We chose it because we want to keep finding moments in life that make us stop, smile, and say, “That’s cool.” New places, new lessons, and new experiences that remind us life is still full of discovery.
